Guilty Pleasures

Gossip Girl

While we all have guilty pleasures that make us happy, most of us wouldn't dare discuss them in public for fear of embarrassment, shame, and the inevitable pointing and laughing. I'm the first to admit I have many guilty pleasures that I should probably work harder to keep under wraps. But it feels liberating to throw them out there and see who else feels the exact same way (but wouldn't admit it until you did). These are my biggest guilty pleasures. What are yours?

my US Weekly subscription
Gossip Girl, 90210, and many other shows that I'm probably too old to watch
prank calling
Saved By the Bell reruns
bonne bell lipsmackers in Dr. Pepper
Reality TV (my most recent favorite was Bachelor Pad)
excessive amounts of candy, ice cream, chocolate, etc.
bubble gum

Love this! I'd have to say we are very similar! These are right up my alley. Me and lil sis cracked up laughing when we called this kid...wasn't meant to be a prank but turned out to be because i couldn't stop laughing at the way i was changing my voice. :)

90s TV shows, anything even vaguely containing sugar, overpacking, and a ridiculous number of magazines. Obsessed.

Do you remember California Dreams? That was my second obsession - after Saved By the Bell, of course! LOVE your guilty pleasures!! :)

This is my favorite post of the week! I L-O-V-E reality TV, especially Bachelor Pad. I am so sad it is over. I am laughing out loud right now, because I love Prank Call but thought no one else knew what it was. Isn't it hilarious?! And who can go a week without Us Weekly?

Great picks, Val!

- all the gossip magazines, while waiting at the dentist or in line at the store...
- Dr. Phil
- 80's music
- TJ's fall, maple cookies (addicted)
- Oh, and Cheetos (okay, and Doritos, and more)

That photo of the candy got me excited and jonesin for a reeses pb cup right this instant! And LOL about pranking. You're awesome! Mine are definitely gossip magazines. I subscribe to most of them with the exception on OK! I let that one run out...guess I'm in recovery mode :)

Oh and also horrible tv. Jersey Shore, Real Housewives, any reality show really! It's really bad...I've even been watching the Mel B show!!!

heather yalin said...

LOL! I'm sure everybody is saying this but prank calling? That just makes me laugh and takes me back to the days of three-way calling and late late night dangerous prank calls with my girlfriends. HOO boy.

Actually your list is SO wonderful, saved by the bell, it's like a walk down memory lane! xoxo

heather yalin said...

And I'm sure too much coffee and wine would be on my guilty pleasure list. Though not so much these days, sigh. So I'm substituting with copious amounts of home baked goodies :)

Gabriel said...

Who doesn't love Saved By the Bell, except for the "College Years"! Considering your post today, its a good thing that I hid those cookies from you this morning!

Valerie you had me at candy. Okay and prank calls. hahaha!! This is my fave post of the day!!

When I was a kid my friends and I were prank calling on a party line (real smart) and the operator called us back and ripped us a new one. End of pranks.

You have the best guilty pleasures lady! I love all of these!! Gossip Girl - check, old 90210 - check, candy - check, rag mags - check, lipsmackers!! - check

I'd add in Felicity (which is totally my go-to happy place), tea (nerd alert), sour gummy worms (in particular), the ID channel, oh and gummy coke bottles - with or without the sour coating.

Love this post!!

xoxo,
Carrie

Oh Valerie - those shorts were my last bit of fall fun. My last allowed fall purchase when we were in Canada. Prepare to see them on replay!! I have to say I'm still enjoying my tough love. It's actually very freeing. :)

Hi there just
wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your post
seem to be running off the screen in Chrome.
I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with
internet browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know.

The style and design look great though! Hope you
get
the problem resolved soon. Kudos
