Denim on Denim

Gap blouse, Anthropologie belt, Forever 21 skirt, vintage Coach bag, Rag & Bone wedges

I have to admit, I've never liked the idea of denim on denim.  There's just something about it that has always turned me off...until recently.  When I saw Carrie's post, I decided I'd give it a try and I'm happy I did.  It was comfortable, relaxed, and perfect for the 60 degree weather we've been having lately in Southern California.  I was recently lucky enough to win this awesome vintage Coach bag from Josie at With a Wink and a Smile and the rest is history.  The rich brown color goes great with denim and it's just large enough to hold the things I truly need (camera, phone, lip gloss, keys) without allowing me to throw everything I own in there (which is what I do with my huge bags).  Thanks again, Josie!  It truly is my new favorite bag.

Denim on denim definitely works with those awesome wedges of yours! Ooh my mom has a very similar Coach bag - perhaps it's time to borrow it!

oh, i really like this! i think it probably works because of the different shades of denim. i was always against the denim on denim look myself. but i believe you can turn any fashion don't into something really cool with just a bit of finesse and style.

I think the belt was essential to the denim on denim pairing! It breaks it up perfectly, and you look terrific!

It looks SO good on you, Valerie! So glad you won, and of course styled the bag to perfection. And this is one of my favorite looks yet -- I love everything about it! Denim-on-denim is so tricky but you look stunning, and I of course and obsessed with the shoes.

Val this is such a cute look on you - I love the denim on denim and you killed it w/the belted waist. Holy mother I forgot you scored that bag from Josie. How great is that?? And ps-still swoon over those shoes every time I peep you in them.

Um Val? Is it ever going to stop raining so we can don warm clothing again? I thought we lived in Southern California. help

I'm with ya on that one. I am so turned off by denim on denim. I have tried a few times with my new denim coat but I can't bring myself to do it...but this outfit...THIS is how it's done. You did it flawlessly and I would DEFINITELY wear that!
